Some updated pics of the house as of today.
Living Room- I need to get thermal curtains before the summer comes so I am trying to find some that are CHEAP but look good. I have to have 7 panels so it gets expensive real quick. I also need 2 in grommet so that has been another hurdle. I want to add some greenery somewhere but not sure what to add and where. Behind the couch would be good for something tall.
Looking into kitchen from living room.
Entry way- I JUST added the monogram last night and I LOVE it!!
Fireplace and William's entertainment!! Ideally, TJ and I would like to rock veneer the fireplace but it seems sort of complex because I cannot tell if the veneer will hold with to the sheetrock. It sounds like there is a way to do it but might be too advanced for us.
My biggest problem child right now. What to put above the ledge. I do not want to do any sort of floral because of the dust it collects. I am thinking of doing 3-4 rod iron panels. I think it would look good. Also, we will eventually be moving the rocker to William's room so I think I want to put two leather seats in this space. I would also like some sort of storage option so maybe a buffet or some taller type of entertainment cabinet. Not sure because it's really not a big living room so I don't want anything too big that will make it feel even smaller but it needs something AND needs to be functional. Hmm, I just don't know yet but this is the space that annoys me for now. :)
Another spot that I cannot make a decision is the tall wall above the hall entrance. I am thinking of a big, square clock.
Kitchen I like now. I made the fauz roman shades which did not come out perfect but they get the job done and I like the fabric. I just need to tidy them up a bit.
Corner in kitchen when you walk in. The trash can is under this stuff. I made the chalkboard from a cheap picture from the Dollar Store and chalkboard spray paint.
Picture wall along stairs. The largest picture has been blank for a year becase I cannot decide what picture to put in it PLUS it's a weird size (11.5 x 11.5). I am going to get one in there very soon though! I am determined! :)

Here are the most recent changes done March 13th by Steph, TJ, Mom, Aunt Cinda, Dyna, Lonn, Mom, Pop:
We poured cement and filled in the "flower bed" that was along the front walkway. The rain drains above it and dirt would be all over the walkway, plus nothing would really grow there. We put William and Cru's footprint in the cement. Pretty cute.
Can see where we filled in with cement and also painted the front door a shiny black!
Dug a trench behind the bed for the rain water to drain off. Made a whole new flower bed and planted a bunch of new plants. They are all small now but in a few years it will look great! We bought a lot of "trailing' plants and they will grow over all the rock we stratigically placed throughout. Now if we can just get the grass to grow. Ugh, constant problem!
Put mulch down where we eventually want to finish out the deck. Gives us a good idea of what it will look like and plus the cedar smells good! :)
Wanted to put a black mulch in the front yard because I thought it would bring out the front door. Once again, it will really pop once the grass fills in from the "old" flower bed that took up half of the front yard (hence all the dirt right in front). Also, added a planter to the window and will be putting some trailing green in there but not exactly sure what yet.

So I have mild OCD when it comes to the house. Maybe mild OCD is not my problem as no patience. I see somthing or some area that I want to change and all of a sudden I cannot get it out of my head. I will drive myself crazy until it's done. This is a problem as we do not have the money to drop everytime I have a blank wall that bothers me. I think I do pretty damn good at controlling my urges. I have to remind myself that a house is a work in progress and you cannot get everything done at once. It takes time to turn your house into a home but we are well on our way and really enjoying it. We have had a ton of help from friends and family and cannot tell you how much we appriciate everything everyone has done. We could not do it without your help.
With that being said, I have a long list of honey-dos from finishing the deck to new hardware throughout. As we do make changes I will be documenting on this page for all to see! Exciting I know. HAHA!
