1st Bday!!

Birthday surprise from Grandpa and Grandma Henderson (Dad and Cindy)
Birthday banner courtesy of Aunt Dynee and Mama- turned out so freaking cute!

William's birthday party went great! There were little ones everywhere and I loved seeing all the babies playing together. Like a typical first time mom, I had scheduled William's one year well check and vaccinations the afternoon before his birthday party and wouldn't it figure that he had a little reaction to the flu shot. The day of his birthday party he was running a slight fever and was pretty needy throughout the day. He had spurts where he perked up and I think he had a good time regardless.

It was a really funny experience because I had all of these grand ideas of decor and food I wanted to do but the closer it got; the less I worried about it. I started making William's smash cake and cupcakes for the party Friday. I was wanting to start on the icing and fillings Friday night but ended up running around with Mom and Aunt Cinda instead. Then I thought I would just get up and finish it all Saturday morning. Well, the morning came and I had no interest in doing any of it so I just finished up the smash cake and then ran to the grocery store and bought the generic birthday cupcakes. The icing didn't even match my color scheme but for some reason I really didn't give a $hit. I think Will has chilled me out quite a bit. It is what it is- my new philosophy.

I was super excited to watch him tear into his first time with sweets but not so much on the devouring of the birthday cake. Even after Daddy pushed his face into it! he just sort of pinched the icing off one little, bitty lick at a time! Oh well, it's for the best anyway. I don't need a 12 mo. old all hopped up on sugar to begin with.

I wish everyone could have been here to join in on the fun but we will be heading to Kansas next month so William will get to spend some time with the Henderson clan then!

I cannot get over the fact that William is already a year old. They really do grow up sooo fast. He is walking all over the place and being independent (as independent as a 12 mo old can be). Where did my tiny baby go that I held and held for hours while I watched him sleep? He discovers new things everyday and loves it! He gets excited to do something on his own and when he figures things out for himself. I love him more than words could describe.

Birthday Coming Out of my Nose

My mind is racing with ideas for William's birthday party. I have to keep reminding myself that he is only one and will not remember any of this. I just love themed parties I guess. Hopefully, by now you have all received your birthday invitiation. Dyna and I have been in serious crafting mode so it's really come at a perfect time. I have been buying little things here and there but REALLY need to sit down and decide exactly what the game plan is going to be for food, decor, etc. Gonna keep it simple though.
Boy William is really starting to walk more and more. I noticed it this weekend because it was a three day weekend so we spent a lot of time hanging around the house. He is walking across the room now, seems like about 10-15 steps at a time. He is so freaking cute I could scream! I will try to get a video of him walking around and post it to TJ's YouTube. We have three videos on there now but need more!!! I've been pretty bad at keeping up with my posts lately but will try to do better. Wouldn't want anyone to miss anything! :)
All for now I guess. Talk to you soon!
Is William in need of a haircut or what?! Waiting for Aunt Stacy though so will be getting his haircut when we go to Kansas in October.

Check out Will on YouTube

William is on his second week of going to daycare. It's really been good for him. He has been going to be around 7:30-8pm every night and seems to be playing his little tail off. When he started, he kinda had a rough first day. Was fussy and not playing whole lot. His second day, the sitter (Miss Shirley), told TJ that he did much better and she has discovered that he likes being in the big kid room rather than the baby room. Since this discovery, he does better and better everyday. Friday, he ventured into the baby room on his own but I'm sure it was just to get a toy! He might not like hanging with the babies but he sure doesn't mind playing with the baby toys! LOL!

My phone is still accting up and I have not been able to download all my videos and pictures since April!!! NOT happy but one day soon I will sit on the phone with Verizon for an hour and get it all figured out. I am learning how precious my extra time is now so Verizon is just not on my priority list. TJ has uploaded two videos on YouTube of William from yesterday. One is of him eating cheese (that's my boy!) and the other is of him rocking on his horse by himself!!! Geez, he is getting so big!!! Here is the link to TJ's YouTube site : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7elwezjX8A&feature=channel

William has been taking a few steps on his own here and there but not fully up and running yet. This week he took maybe 10 steps on his own. He is still saying 'dada' and he also says rooster (he says oo-ter) but he actually has not said rooster in about a week. He tries to say Cru (cu-cu). Now that I know TJ can upload these videos right from his phone to YouTube; I will start using his phone to take videos and post them. He might have messed up by letting me in on this juicy tid-bit of information!

I am working on the invites for William's bday party. I will order them tonight and then get them out next week. His bday party is going to be Sept 18th from 1-4pm at the house. Should be fun! I keep having to remind myself that this is just his first birthday and he will not remember any of it. I keep seeing all of this cute stuff and want it all!!! Streamers and balloons will be my new best friend (cheap and easy). Oh, and you will see it on the invitation but if you want to get William something for his birthday, we are asking for gift certificates to Babies/Toys- R-Us to get him a swing-set in the Spring.

Life is good right now. I have everything in life that is important to me and I am very aware and grateful. I have never focused on material things in life (even though they are fun for a while). I have always known exactly what I wanted and living the dream is awesome. I have a wonderful husband that makes me smile everyday and that loves me no matter what; a son that is just so perfect to me that there are really no words to describe him besides truly an angel and a dog that loves and protects us all. Sometimes I may get carried away with wanting this or wanting that but in the grand scheme of life, none of that crap is important or really matters. Every now and again, I slow down and look around at the life we have and I feel extremely lucky. Our stresses are minor compared to others in this world. I want to tell everyone reading this that we love you and are so glad you are in our lives.

Boy this summer has been BUSY!!!! Dyna's wedding was last weekend and it was a blast! William looked super cute in his little man tux and I will post more pics as soon as I get some good ones. July 7th was Cru's second bday. Here are a few pics from the last two weeks or so. As you can tell, they are becoming a little less becasue the second I turn around to grab a camera; it's too late.... he is into something he soundn't be or has moved on! Keeping Daddy and I busy but very happy!!

Big Boy Bruise

William had his first big boy accident yesterday. He pulled the entry table on top of himself! Poor little guy. He cried for a bit but has been fine ever since. Doesn't seem to bother him but Mommy cringes every time I see his little face. :(

Update

At the grocery store this week....
Lakey

Look at me learn!
Teeth!!! Five so far and working on more
Mama!!!
At the Social Security office with Mom!
My new toothbrush!

Will is getting to be such a big boy! He plays now, laughs, dances while watching his cartoons, talks (babbles) all the time and throws a fit when I put him down! :) Already 9 months, geez. He is crawling everywhere and he loves to be on his feet. It's so funny to watch him when his cartoons come on. He hears the theme song, pulls up on something so he can see the TV and then starts bouncing (dancing) getting all excited! It's so damn cute!!

He had a Dr appt two weeks ago and he is 30.5 inches tall (still off the growth charts) and 20.14 lbs (dropped from 75% to 50%). The Dr said he is to be eating three full meals a day (I was only giving him two) so we have gone to three meals and I am sure he will be gaining more weight. We are to start weaning him off formula as they are supposed to be off of formula by 12 months and getting all of their nutrition in food. He gets to start whole milk at 12 months too. I'm definitely not worried about his weight. He is very healthy; I think he will just be tall and skinny (like his Mama was).

Everything has been going great over here. I FINALLY got a new-to-me vehicle after three weeks without one. I got a 2008 Ford Edge SEL and we LUUUUUVVVV it!!! It has SO much room and is just the perfect vehicle for the fam. TJ's sister, Dyna, is getting married July 17th so have been working on misc. things for the big event. Really has been a busy little summer so far. Our trip to Lakey June 11th was a BLAST! William seemed to really have a good time. He just hung out with us in the river for 3-6/ hrs /day. He just has so much fun in the water. I swear, he is just an angel. We could not have asked for anything more than him. His little brother/sister is gonna have some big shoes to fill! :) No, I am not pregnant but just a note for the future.

Once again, my stupid phone is not connecting to our computer so I can download all of my videos. Looks like I will have to uninstall the program and then reinstall to get it to work. Just have not had the hour free to do it. All good though. I will get it done eventually! Here's a few highlights from the last few weeks.....

Naked Baby! Naked Baby!

Not Much Free Time Over Here

So obviously I have had my hands full now that William is on the move! Whew! Hopefully the extra baby weight I have will be melting away. Not sure how it could NOT! Here is Williams routine except now he has added opening/closing every door and cabinet:

Happy Father's Day!

William and I are very blessed to have such a wonderful Daddy/Husband. I love watching Will and TJ interact. William already looks up to him and his eyes just light up when he sees "Dada". Will is SOOO close to really enunciating Da-Da. He babbles it all the time! :)

I hope you all have a great Daddy's Day!

Recent Pics

Here are a few pics of William. They are of his first time in the pool on 5/22 (he LOVES the water) and then some pics from last week when we went shopping (and yes, he selected those shoes. Plucked them right off the shelf when I was not looking)

Little Update

Sorry but things have been a little hectic here over the past week or so. We have had company in town for Memorial weekend, I sold my car (and do not have another one yet), our A/C went out last Sunday night so we had to stay at TJ's mom's house for two days and I just have not had the spare time to sit down and update the site yet. All is well though and William is doing great! Crawling all over the place and pulling up on EVERYTHING! Yes, it has begun! TJ and I are chasing him around the house all night. He tries to climb the stairs, tries to pull up on things that are unstable and today, was on his knees playing/splashing in Cru's water bowl! :) It's nonstop but it makes for some good laughs between TJ and me!

William is still sleeping upstairs in his bed and that is going well. He woke up around 2 or 3am but I was able to rub his back and he fell back to sleep. It's really been good for me as well. Used to, I woudl put him down at 9p and then would fall asleep right after him but now I get some "me" time which has been nice to say the least. Promise I will post some new pics soon but for now, I'm tired. :) Guess I am not to far off the schedule yet (it's 9:30p!). :)

Quick Hello

So my employer has blocked a ton of websites at work, including this one, which really sucks! I usually would write a little something when I thought of it but now it will have to wait until I get a free minute in the evenings.

Will has been sleeping in his bed since Friday night. I put the air purifier that TJ and I had in our room, in William's room and I think that was the key. It was too quiet in his room and he was used to the noise. All has been well now. William is crawling on all fours pretty regularly and trying to pull up on everything. He loves being up on his feet. Geez, 8 months already! Guess time is just going to fly from now on.

Better keep this one short and sweet as I am pretty tired and ready to hit the sack. :)
